My name is Mathew, and I am the CIS Administrator for “CreationIS – Internet Services”. If you have had a chance to look over our site you will find that we develop Web Businesses with a high focus on internet marketing. What is the difference between web site design and building web businesses? The focus is not on making a quick sale and just getting you on the internet and then leaving you there like a stranded fish out of water. Building web businesses is more like teaching you how to fish and not just giving you a fish to eat. One of the main focus of this blog is to write down thoughts and comments that have come to me over the years on these topics and some of the solutions that we have come up with.

We have been doing this business since 1998, and in that time we have seen a lot of changes. Some good – some not-so-good. Which is to say that they are not necessarily – bad. It simply means that many changes have been beneficial and many have been like everything else about the internet – trial and error. Something would come along that doesn’t benefit anyone, it would be tried for a while and then dropped because it didn’t catch on or it was found out that it didn’t work so good. How quickly people moved on to other things.

Sometimes I think that the people on the internet are a child who is having a birthday party. The time comes for the birthday child to open his or her presents and just as fast as they rip through one package, they are already distracted by the package that they have not opened yet. The thing that they have not seen is still more exiting than the present in front of them. People and technology on the internet are very similar. Just as soon as some new development comes out to help them surf better or increase the business, or add information, we look at it only superficially before we are clicking a button to go to the next thing, or purchasing the newest upgrade before we even understand the version of something that we already have. Constantly distracted be the newest and next thing even though we still haven’t understood what the internet can do for us right now – just as it is.
