Firefox 3 T-Shirt Design Contest

Firefox is at it once again. Not only are they getting ready to launch their best browser ever (soon) they have just finished a huge design contest for anyone who wanted too – come up with a design for the Firefox 3 t-shirt.

“The Firefox 3 t-shirt design contest resulted in almost 2,000 submissions and a growing global community of over 3,400 designers. Selecting the top 5 was a very challenging task as there were many amazing designs to choose from. But the final decision is up to you! Vote now and help us select the official Firefox 3 t-shirt for the Mozilla Store.”

I took a look at the contestants for the design contest before they closed the submission period. They were amazing.

Side Note: I just want to point out that I am not an employee of Mozilla, an ex-employee, or affiliated with Mozilla and Firefox in anyway except that I use Firefox. And I have been using Firefox for several years and I truly believe that it is the best browser out there.

I paged through hundreds of photos of great designs by many extremely talented graphics designers. I can certainly understand how the people at Mozilla had a hard time narrowing down their choices to five final contestants. I would have wanted to at least pick the top 100 or so.

I am looking forward to the new launch of Firefox – currently I am using the Betatester version of the up-and-coming browser, and I think the final release is going to be taking web browsing to a whole new level. If you have never used Firefox – check it out. Its secure, safer web browsing was one of the first features that impressed me. Also that fact that it is less intrusive on my computer system and used only about 2% of my computer resources to run as apposed to some other web browsers that we won’t mention (but its blue and looks like a big ‘e’). Anyway, this morning I just wanted to drop a line and add my support for Firefox and encourage you to go and vote for one of the t-shirt designs. While you’re there, check out Firefox as a browser if you have never used it. It is worth the time and it is better web browsing.
