RemindOklahoma.com is our latest featured business, and I must say – we are very excited about this one. Not only was the design and development fun to create, but the business concept is brilliant.

On the surface – RemindOklahoma.com sells residential air-filters.  Something that every home needs and uses.  However, what makes this so unique is that they have developed a way to ‘remind’ you to purchase your filters while creating a fund-raising project for the local school districts.

As a school package children can sell the air-filters (instead of cookies, or chocolate) to help raise money for more books, band instruments, sports equipment (or anything else they can think of), or when you order your air filters direct – you can choose the school you would like to benefit and that school will receive at least 25% of the cost of the filter.

So, remind yourself to change your filters and stay healthy – at the same time support your local schools and everyone wins!

STOP INTERNET CENSORSHIP

RIGHT NOW, around the world their are website blacking themselves out in order to protest the legislature that is before Congress – the Stop Internet Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA). WordPress.org has stated: “help stop this dangerous legislation”, and that: “this legislation will affect internet freedom”. I however, will not black out my site. I think it is a dumb idea. Why should I loose business, shut down for a day, or plaster tons of ugly stuff on my website because I want to make a point? No! I don’t recommend it to anyone. I have a life, a business and a family to feed.

However, I do believe that WE MUST TAKE ACTION!

Don’t bother emailing Congress

Emailing Congress is a waste of time.  It has no lawful ramifications, weight or authority.  Why? Because anybody can write an email, millions of emails can be falsified, and in short – there is no credibility to an email.  Email petitions are useless and carry no weight in a court of law.

Why? Because a petition is a “signed” document, and by signing your document you are swearing that the information given is by you, you have the authority to make such a decision and your name and address can then be verified.  If you were brought into a court of law over the signature of the petition – you give the petition authority. Your signature is like your fingerprint – unique, and that is why a petition that doesn’t have a valid name, address, and signature (stating that the previous information is true and authorized) – a petition is useless.  SO How do you take action?
